Customers wishing to place contract orders to be sown for them for delivery at specific dates, can do so on our Contract Order Form which can be downloaded and printed.

To order from our weekly Stocklist

In principle our plugs are grown to order whereby we sow in excess of placed orders, in order to ensure perfect deliveries. As a result we have a weekly Stock Availability List detailing plugs in excess of our contract requirements.

Every Thursday, late afternoon this list is faxed out to registered clients throughout Australia. Orders are then taken on a first come first serve basis. If you wish to be placed on our fax list for this purpose, please let us know. 

This list can also be viewed on this website each Thursday.  To further improve service to our customers, we will also be sending this Stock List out as email attachments.  If you wish to be included in our email list, please let us know at  info@highsun.com.au.

Since orders from the stock list are strictly on a first come, first served basis, it would be of great advantage to our customers to be on the email list.

Payment

Orders from new customers are to be prepaid before consignments leave the nursery. Payments can be made by Bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard, cheque or cash by 3pm the day before dispatch. Customers will remain on prepaid trading terms until an application for credit has been approved.

Plugs Shipping Information

Highsun orders are packed in brand new, specially manufactured, white coloured, sun-reflecting cartons with effective ventilation holes and special inserts to ensure that the plug trays stay secure during transit. Orders exceeding 75 trays to the Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide metropolitan areas may be despatched in Highsun pallet-racks, depending on available pallet-rack stock.

Plug prices quoted in this catalogue include packaging but not the freight. For Tasmania and the metropolitan areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth a freight charge per plug applies, shown separately on the invoice. Freight to other areas will be charged and shown separately on the invoice, based on the tariff of the carrier utilised (unless transport arrangements are made by the customer).

A door-to-door transport/delivery system is in place for Tasmania and the metropolitan areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Customers beyond the metropolitan delivery service in the Perth area will be asked to indicate their preferred transport-courier operator from Perth for COD delivery from Perth to final destination.

All our consignments are insured against damage caused by transport and related accidents. This insurance however does not cover any undesirable growth deficiencies of plugs caused by delays during transport, rendering them unsuitable for further cultivation; such an insurance cover is unavailable.

Highsun Express pays all DPI clearance charges in WA and Tasmania for which customers in Tasmania are charged a standard clearance fee of $12.50 per order and customers in WA $10.00 per order.

Plugs Interstate Inspections

General

Highsun Express plugs is a Nursery Industry Association of Australia(NIAA) accredited nursery. To comply with the strict requirements for movement of plant material interstate, we have made a policy of implementing a complete pest and disease monitoring system throughout the entire nursery. This system conforms to the strictest standards for export laid down by any state in Australia and involves both weekly DPI inspections, fortnightly trapping and pre-delivery spraying as per requirements.

Every Monday morning Queensland Department of Primary Industries carry out a visual inspection to ensure we comply with all Regulations. This enables us to export our products to all states in Australia.

All inspection charges are currently being met by Highsun Express Plugs as long as orders and delivery arrangements are finalised for the coming shipment week by noon the Friday afternoon prior to despatch.

Any late orders after noon Friday may attract the full inspection costs of $60.00 to have the inspector return and sign all relevant paperwork.

Fire Ants

Highsun complies with all Fire Ant regulations and employs a strict Risk Management Strategy to prevent any potential Fire Ant problems. Highsun is accredited to send plants to all states in Australia.

Plug Freight Liability

All shipments go forth at customer ’s risk. We accept no responsibility for damage or delay following delivery to the original carrier or pick up by the buyer or his agent. We will however, claim on customer ’s behalf the cost value of the damaged goods.

Customer Responsibilities:

* Respond within 24 hours to the call from the transport company
to pick up the goods. It is a good precaution to contact the
transport company if you have not heard from them within 48
hours of stock having left our company.

* Receive shipment and sign for it;

* Inspect shipment in carriers presence;

* If damage is evident, contact Highsun Express Plugs within 24
hours

Highsun Express Responsibilites:

* Highsun Express Plugs will notify you the day the goods leave
the nursery;

* Your plants will be packaged to the best of our ability to with
stand regular transport routes to all major centres in Australia.

What do I do with my plugs upon receival?
You’ve just made an investment in your future income, we’ve given the seeds the optimum conditions to release their full potential and now the plugs are sitting at your front gate…
What do you do?
You need to capitalise on the benefits of buying in your plugs by handling the product correctly upon receival.


Inspection:
Inspect the cartons for evidence of mechanical damage as you unload from the carrier. Alternatively, if you pick up from the depot yourself, note any damage on the consignment note and request the driver/storeperson to sign both copies. Keep yours to assist us with claims. Unpack, as soon as possible. When removing from cartons, inspect plugs for leaf discolouration and wilting. If necessary, water plugs with clear water only, then only as often as necessary to prevent wilting. Ensure plugs are placed in a sheltered position, allowing irrigation water to drain away freely. Acclimatise plants for one day in a house with similar conditions to where they will be growing. Do not expose to full sun initially, although they were sun hardened, they will have been in a box for a couple of days.

Transplanting the plugs

Plugs should be transplanted within three to five days of arrival; this ensures that they will remain healthy and actively growing. Plants may become root bound, if held in the tray too long and will not take off as quickly, increasing total crop time. This particularly applies when purchasing from our Weekly Stock List.
Water plug trays a couple of hours before transplanting – this makes them easier to dislodge. Plug poppers are highly recommended for dislodging as they increase the transplant efficiency of the work force.


Growing Media:
Media pH should be 5.8 – 6.0 with a low to moderate nutrient charge.

Fertiliser and Chemicals
After transplanting, allow the roots to break out of their root ball before applying fertiliser, usually about three to four days.
Plants at this stage do no respond well to excessive use of drench fungicides and high concentrations of fertiliser.

Ordering Plugs:

Place all orders in writing, where possible order by email info@highsun.com.au or free fax 1800 644 015, stating tray size, quantity and date required. A two week lead time from placement of order to seeding is required to ensure timely scheduling and planting of your order. You may change your order (in writing) up to the time of seed purchase.

Ordering Florist Gerberas / Natural Selections (NS) / Propagation Supplies (PS):

Place all orders in writing, where possible order by email info@highsun.com.au or free fax 1800 644 015, stating quantities, varieties and date required.

Ordering Seed:

Place all orders in writing, where possible order by email info@highsun.com.au or fax 07 3821 8588, clearly stating product, quantity and date required. You may change your order (in writing) up to the time of seed purchase.

Minimum Seed Order Quantity:

The sum of the individual items must be equal to or greater than $50 nett. Individual varieties are offered as a minimum nett $15. Where the quantity ordered does not meet the minimum required, Highsun Express reserves the right to supply and charge for a greater quantity to meet the minimum stated.

Deposits Confirmation:

In some cases, deposits will be required. e.g. custom seeding, new customers and large orders. Upon processing of your order, an “Order Confirmation” will be forwarded. Orders should not be taken as accepted unless an “Order Confirmation” is received, whereupon the terms and conditions of trade shall be deemed to have been accepted and understood. All information you will need when making an inquiry into an existing order will be found on the Order Confirmation. Due date is approximate only. Please allow for this when ordering.

Cancellation:

You may cancel prior to the seed date only if the seed has NOT been purchased and only with the consent of the seller. Under no circumstances will cancellations be permitted after the seed date, as listed in the “Order Confirmation” has passed. An invoice will be raised for the amount as shown on the “Order Confirmation”, once your plants are ready. ALL CHANGES / CANCELLATIONS MUST BE IN WRITING.

Substitutions:

Substitution could occur in the event of seed supply problems, UNLESS WE ARE ADVISED OTHERWISE.

Plug / Gerberas / NS / PS Shipping Information:

Freight is added to the invoice. We arrange shipment by air, road or rail. In some cases the customer is required to arrange pickup from the airport/depot to nursery. All shipments go forth at customer’s risk.

Seed Shipping Information:

Orders under $300, freight will be added to the invoice. We will arrange shipment via Toll Group or Express Post. All shipments go forth at customer’s risk.

Seed Freight Liability:

Highsun Express accepts no responsibility for damage or delay following delivery to the original carrier. We will however, claim on the customers’ behalf, the cost value of the damaged goods, provided Insurance has been taken out.

Customers Responsibilities:

Respond within 24 hours to the call from the transport company to pick up the goods. It is a good precaution to contact the transport company if you have not heard from them within 48 hours of stock having left our company. In the event of a missing consignment, 1st contact should be made to your receiving depot, advising them of the consignment note number and date the goods left the nursery. Receive shipment and sign for it. Inspect shipment in carrier’s presence; If damage is evident, contact Highsun Express within 24 hours.

Highsun Express Responsibilities:

Your plants, seeds and propagation supplies will be packaged to the best of our ability to withstand handling and movements on regular transport routes to all major centres in Australia.

Property & Risk:

Property in and title to the goods shall remain with Highsun Express and Highsun Express reserves the right to dispose of the goods until such time that all moneys owing by the Buyer to Highsun Express from time to time and at any time have been paid in full. The risk in the goods purchased shall, unless otherwise agreed in writing, pass to the Buyer immediately upon the goods leaving Highsun Express premises.

 

Pick Up:

Orders may be picked up if you prefer. Please allow 24 hours lead-time

Pick Up hours are:

 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday. 9 a.m. - 12 noon Friday. Closed Weekends & Public Holidays. To ensure optimum plant quality, orders MUST be picked up on the day agreed upon by the customer.

Holding Stock Past Due Date:

We can only hold plants if space permits. Due to the nature of our plants we cannot guarantee the plants will remain at our normal shipping standard. No credits for oversize and subsequent problems will be given for plants that are held in our nursery beyond the original shipping date, as we accept no responsibility for the quality of held plants.

Payment:

All new customers’ orders are to be Prepaid, before the goods leave the nursery. A payment form will be faxed to you prior to dispatch. Payment can be made by:

*     Direct Deposit to our Bank Account (please fax through receipt of

      Bank Deposit)

*     Credit Card:- Visa, MasterCard, Bankcard, American Express

*     Cheque or Cash

Payment is to be received by us, by 12 noon the day before dispatch. Goods delivered by our Driver, can be paid by Cheque or Cash on delivery. Customers will remain on Prepaid trading terms until an application for credit is approved. Highsun Express will require an original completed, signed and approved Credit Application form, before a credit account is opened.  A 2% fee applies to 30 day accounts paid by Credit Card.

Terms For Approved Customers:

Net 7 days or 30 days from date of invoice. After 60 days outstanding, account will be reviewed and your Price Level Category may be reviewed & changed to a lower category. After 90 days outstanding, credit will be stopped. Interest may be charged on accounts over 60 days, at 1.25% per month.

Product Claims:

Customer Service must be called within 48 hours of receipt, if claim is to be honoured by Highsun Express. If you are not satisfied with the products and are requesting a credit, return goods to Highsun Express, we will pay the freight charge on returned goods. Short count claims must be made within 48 hours of receipt of plants. Before you call, please check:-

*     be sure you receive the number of plants you were invoiced for

*     time goods left our nursery and time you received them.

Limit Of Liability:

Highsun Express  states and the customer acknowledges that any variety or descriptive information furnished in relation to the seed or seedlings (plugs), is based upon information received from the seed breeders or distributors, and is provided as a guide only. The customer accepts responsibility in relation to any delays in accepting the seeds or plants ordered and recognises that significant variations may occur in the particular plants due to geographic location, climate, soil type, soil conditions, cultural management practices and other growth factors. No liability will be accepted by Highsun Express or its Directors for any inaccuracy in the information provided. Highsun Express gives no further warranty, express or implied, and all other or further warranties, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are excluded. We shall not be responsible for loss of any product, profit or any other indirect special or consequential damages. Any mis-labelled product is subject to our limit of liability i.e. to the extent of the purchase price.

Prices:

Prices shown in the catalogue of Highsun Express may be varied without notice to the customer at any time. Highsun Express reserves the right to correct errors on invoices. Prices quoted in our catalogue do not include GST.

Indent Seed:

Indent items require an additional 4 weeks lead time to allow for seed to be sourced.

Florist Gerberas / NS / PS Quality:

Every endeavour will be made by Highsun Express at all times to ensure that plants are propagated from reliable stock to accepted industry standards of quality and performance.

Vegetative Products:

Customers who have purchased or will purchase any vegetative cuttings from Highsun Express will only use said plants for cut flower or pot production and shall refrain from any type of propagation of these plants. Propagation shall mean to increase or reproduce the supplied plants. Highsun Express can commence legal proceedings against offenders of this provision for damages and costs.
